Hi Guest,

We have some excellent news to share in this Tech Tip edition! New versions of all BCF Managers and BIMcollab ZOOM are available for all users since this December. New innovative features have been included in this update, created to enhance your issue coordination and revision, so keep reading to know all the details!

Not just that, but we're also glad to share with you some fresh ZOOM content developed by our experts to assist you in getting started with Smart Views, an announcement for the brand-new BIMcollab Academy, raised security standards, and a new look for BIMcollab Cloud.

NEW:  Saved filters to speed up finding the right issues
If you have worked on a BIMcollab project before, it’s likely that you already realize the convenience of using filters to manage your issues (if not, then we invite you to try it out!). Therefore, since the last BCF Managers and BIMcollab ZOOM update, you have the option to save filter rules in order to speed up your work. Setup specific properties in your filters to create new custom views and boost your revisions.
TIP: Update all of your BCF Managers simultaneously using the
BIMcollab installer app (only for Windows).

NEW: Use our Auto-sync function to keep your issues automatically up to date with team members

Effective communication is essential. That’s why we at BIMcollab stay focused on continuing improving our issue exchange process. The lastest Auto-sync function is designed to speed up your communication by automatically synchronizing issues with your BIMcollab Cloud project. By turning on the Auto-sync mode in your BCF Manager or ZOOM, issues will synchronize right after they have been created or edited, so information will be available for all team members without delay!

At BIMcollab we care about keeping your data safe!
We're happy to announce that since November 2022, BIMcollab is ISO 27001 certified to keep your data protected from cyber-attacks, ransomware, malware, or other data breaches.

ISO 27001 is the best-known standard for information security management systems (ISMS) and their requirements. This standard ensures that we continuously keep assessing and improving our security.

Want to start using Smart views? Try out our example sets
Without a doubt, Smart Views have evolved as one of ZOOM's most valuable tools for model validation. Currently available in ZOOM free mode, they are designed for visual checking: showing, hiding, and coloring different components according to their properties. However, if you feel a lack of inspiration about how to start using Smart Views, our BIMcollab specialists have created special purpose sets to assist you. Import and edit them according to your needs, or just use them as a foundation to create your own sets!
TIP: Combine your Smart properties with Smart Views
to maximize the benefits of visual checking.

New course in the BIMcollab Academy!

Have you heard about the BIMcollab Academy? In the previous Tech Tip edition, we had the pleasure of introducing our new initiative, the BIMcollab Academy, a project that began with three ZOOM online courses available: the basic course, Smart properties, and Clash detection.

Now we present to you, our fourth BIMcollab ZOOM course about model data extraction. By completing this course, you’ll learn how to use the Lists feature to improve IFC validation and discover how to extract, structure, export, share, and import model data like an expert!

BIMcollab Cloud has a new look!
In order to improve our user interface, BIMcollab Cloud now has a more friendly aspect. The new white theme was enabled for all BIMcollab spaces this week after our last update. If you don’t have access to a private space, you can check the new interface by login into the free space of join.bimcollab.com, take your time to explore the new look, and enjoy all its improvements.

Did you know that...
  • As a project leader, you can add a "Project ID" from the settings page? This will help users identify your BIMcollab Cloud project quickly.
  • With the latest version of our BCF Managers (6.1.11), you have the option to set any viewpoint as the default issue viewpoint? You can do it by selecting the new comment and click the button of "Set viewpoint as default".
