Hello
Guest,
In BIMcollab, we have the commitment to providing innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the BIM community.

For this reason, we are happy to announce exciting news for our BIMcollab ZOOM and BCF manager users. Continue reading to learn everything you need to know about the new features that will help you improve your model validation process. Custom Clash grouping rules, new Issue's reporting naming options, and more freedom for our Revit users to choose their coordinate system are all included. Additionally, we'll show you how to set the frequency of your email notifications and schedule the refresh of your BIMcollab datasets in Power BI.
Let's dive in and discover how these updates can boost your BIM workflow!

NEW: Group your Clashes using any property in your Models!
We understand that handling your project’s clashes can be tough (especially if you are dealing with large-scale projects!). In BIMcollab ZOOM, you can overcome this by automatically creating thousands of Issues from your clash results. But, even so...
... dealing with that number of Issues one by one, may not be the best solution.
Originally, ZOOM users could group several clashes into one Issue according to some preset properties (Element Type, Model, or Material). However, every BIM workflow is different! That’s why since version 6.5 of ZOOM the option to group clashes by any property in your models (even Smart Properties!) was included. Take a look at this new way of grouping and find new ways to improve your work.
TIP: Customize your Issues even more by creating special Smart Properties to group your Clashes.

NEW: Our Revit BCF managers now support Project Base Point for model coordination

Good news for all Revit users! The latest version of our BCF Managers (v 6.2) introduces a new option that many users have likely been anticipating: Enabling teams to work with IFC models using Project Base Point as the coordinate base.

Even though using Survey Point coordinates is always recommended for model coordination, having additional options provides our users with greater flexibility in meeting their project requirements and improving communication among collaborators. Remember that coordinates are one of the most important aspects of a successful BIM workflow. So before sharing Issues, ensure to discuss with your team which coordinates system to implement for your project, then ensure to export your IFC models accordingly, go to the BCF manager settings panel, and select which option to use for coordinate base.
TIP: Do you have problems visualizing your Issues in Revit? Check out the Zoom-to and section box options.

NEW: Reporting your Clash results? Check out our new naming options
As your team's BIM methodology evolves, you will notice that the use of conventions becomes more and more essential. Following a pre-defined structure for your models' and projects' names is very useful for quickly communicating information such as discipline, model type, version, area, and so on by simply looking at their names. The same applies to your issues.
To assist you in this process, since version 6.5, BIMcollab ZOOM includes new tools to easily achieving your Issue's name conventions (or even help you to create new ones!); Include the name of your Clash rules and apply prefixes or tags to your Issue’s title among other settings. Why not give it a shot? It's simple; install our new ZOOM version and you'll find these new options in the Clash results reporting panel.

TIP: Apply a custom prefix to the Issue’s title so you can easily filter them and create custom reports from BIMcollab Cloud.

Schedule the refresh of your BIMcollab datasets in Power BI
Have you checked our Power BI integration before? Our integration with Power BI allows our users to manage their project data from BIMcollab Cloud and create extensively detailed and customized reports. On its own, it's a tool that can completely change the way you work!
However, that’s not all, by publishing your reports to your online workspace, you can configure your data's scheduled refreshes, as a result, your BIMcollab reports in Power BI will be automatically updated at the time of your choosing. You don’t have to be a Power BI expert to accomplish this, we'll guide you through the process step by step.

Get in charge of your time, and choose when you get notifications

While working on a BIMcollab Cloud project, team members receive personalized reports of all Issues activity assigned to them via email (even Project Leaders receive specialized reports). But being realistic, ending up your day with a bunch of email notifications about every change made to your Issues doesn’t fit everyone.

Immediate notifications are ideal for urgent issues that require quick attention, while daily or weekly notifications can help users stay updated without being overwhelmed with too many alerts.

For this reason, BIMcollab Cloud enables each team member to set their own email frequency by accessing their team member settings and manually entering the email frequency that best suits your workflow (Daily, Weekly, Never, or immediate). No more unnecessary emails in your inbox!

TIP: For immediate alerts, you can use the Notifyoption, regardless of the frequency of your Issue’s reports.
